The body of the purse is a silk mix velvet; this has been lined with linen and hand-sewn throughout. All of the silk for the decoration has been hand dyed.

The decoration consists of fingerloop braids to conceal and strengthen the seams and opening; with fingerloop braids for the handles.

Inside of the bag are two small coin purses of silk lined with linen. These have drawstrings which carry through to the outside of the main purse.

Attached to each side panel and the bottom of the purse is a flat pom-pom of blue silk with an embroidered rose. The rose is worked in split stich and couching on a linen ground, using silks and real gold thread.

The drawstrings - for both the outer purse and the two inner purses are finished with a blue silk pompom. Each of these has a covered wooden button, decorated with silk and gold thread to form a star.
