Gina-B Silkwork

Victorian style beaded reticule

roll your mouse over the thumbnails to see an enlarged image.

The purse below is my first attempt at beading using a purse mold. The beads are all vintage (probably dating to the 1930s), whilst the expanding brass opening at the top is also antique (a lucky find at auction, which took alot of polishing to bring up nicely!)

The bag is lined with silk, which is actually a magenta pink but this just hasn't photographed correctly.

The tassel at the bottom is made up of a large glass bead, a wood bead covered with silk and gold in a chevron design, and a skirt of beaded loops.

The purse is lined in silk, while the little silk tassels at the bottom are made of hand dyed silk and have gilt turks' head knots.
