Knop/Ball buttons

roll your mouse over the thumbnails to see an enlarged image.

Knop buttons (ball, domed or acorn shaped) were particularly popular during the 16th and 17th centuries.

There is a wide variety of wrapping techniques used, from needleweaving and knotting, traditional satin wraps, and embroidery.

You will also find knob buttons in the Dorset button page.
