Medieval points and laces

1. A set of hand dyed filament silk points, finished with brass aiglets. Fingerloop braiding technique.

 

 

2. A set of silk yarn points, braided using the fingerloop braiding technique. The silk has been hand dyed with woad, and fitted with brass aiglets.

   
3. These various silk laces were made for Ninya Mikhaila, for use in Elizabethan costumes (primarily for attaching ruffs and closing shirt collars). They are all created using the fingerloop braiding technique - to both 15c and 17c patterns.
     
  4. A 3 metre filament silk lace, made using the fingerloop braiding technique. This lace was commissioned for use as a lace on a wedding dress.
     
  5. This set of hand dyed filament silk points have been finished with silver aiglets.
     
  6. A set of fine filament silk points, braided using the fingerloop braiding technique. The lovely aiglets are silver-gilt.
     
  7. A set of fine filament sillk laces (15th century pattern) fitted with silver-gilt aiglets.
